This tall Strata Art Quilt is an ode to Missoula, Montana and the teepee burners that used to be present in the days of logging and were used to burn slash. They stopped using them in the 1960’s due to the pollution they caused and eventually removed them from the landscape completely, but I remember seeing them as a child. The images of these unique structures are printed onto silk and silk organza and then fused onto the piece. Old Soul is free motion machine quilted and beaded.
