The background of this piece is commercial, handpainted and rusted fabrics in earthy tones. The tree trunk is molding paste that I colored and applied to the fabric in a textural way. The tree branches are ribbon covered wires with beads added for sparkle and “bounce”. These wired branches hang out 2”-3” from the quilt creating a willowy canopy.
